Admission to VIT’s B. Tech programmes is based on the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE).
The exam is a computer based test (CBT) that is held in centers across the country and abroad. Questions are based on the specified syllabus with options to attempt papers in either Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry,Biology and English(PCB).
VITEEE - 16 will be held from April 6th (Wedesday) to April 17th (Sunday), 2016. The exams will be conducted in 3 sessions on each day.

Laws of Motion & Work, Energy and Power
Law of conservation of linear momentum and its applications. Static and kinetic friction - laws of friction - rolling friction - lubrication.

Conservative forces: conservation of mechanical energy (kinetic and potential energies) - non-conservative forces: motion in a vertical circle - elastic and inelastic collisions in one and two dimensions. -

Electrostatics

Electric flux-Gauss’s theorem and its applications. Current Electricity
Electric Current – flow of charges in a metallic conductor – drift velocity and mobility and their relation with electric current. Instructions to the Candidates
- Question Nos. 121 to 125 are questions on English and it will be Multiple Choice Questions.
- Question No. 121, 122 and 123 are Comprehension questions. They are based on short passages (30 -50 words) or lines of poems (2 -3) or dialogue (2 exchanges)
- Question No. 124 and 125 are based on English Grammar and Pronunciation.
- The candidates should read carefully the texts and the questions that follow and choose the CORRECT / BEST answer from the options given for each question.

Equating is a statistical process that is used to adjust scores on test forms (that are approximately equivalent) so that scores on the forms can be used interchangeably. Thus, equating is used to adjust scores of candidates who have taken different forms of a test, in order to facilitate meaningful and fair comparison for merit list and ranking of these candidates. The statistical procedure of ‘Equipercentile Equating’ would be used by VIT to identify the percentile ranks for candidates, such that scores on different forms with the same percentile rank are considered to be equivalent. Thus, Percentile Rank is a unique and invariant position of the test taker in that group. A percentile Rank, say 90 Percentile Rank denotes that there are 90 percent of test takers scores below this score level and 10 percent above this test score. Candidates are advised not to make assumptions and predictions of their score or rank based on their own estimates of raw scores
- Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1994 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2016.
- Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2016 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
- The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the SC/ST & North Eastern State.
- Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.
- 'NIOS' candidates are eligible to appear for the VITEEE-2016.
- Refund will be made as per the norms of the UGC. The Counselling fee of Rs.10,000/- is non-refundable, but it will be adjusted in the tuition fees once the candidate joins the University.
- We do not refund any fees on account of withdrawal or absence from the Institute or for any other reason after a student has taken admission to any course of study. You may, however, claim a refund for due consideration from the University. If approved, the amount to be refunded shall be within the limits of the University.
- All refundable deposits will be returned, after deductions if any, at the time of completion of the course or on cancellation of admission.
